Step 1: Claim and Verify Your Profile
If you haven't already: go to business.google.com, search for your business, and claim or create your listing. Verification is usually done by postcard (takes 5–14 days) or by phone/email for some categories.
Step 2: Complete Every Section
Google rewards completeness. Fill in everything:
- Business name (exact legal name)
- Primary category (choose the most specific one)
- Secondary categories (add up to 9)
- Address (exact match with all your other listings)
- Phone number (local number preferred)
- Website URL
- Business hours including special hours
- Business description (750 characters, use your keywords naturally)

Step 5: Post Weekly
Google Posts (updates, offers, events) keep your profile active and signal to Google that your business is engaged. Post at least once per week — a photo with a short update is enough.
